Campers at JCC Maccabi Sports Camp

UpStarter JCC Maccabi Sports Camp is an overnight Jewish sports camp for athletes in grades 3-11 located just outside of San Francisco in Atherton, California. They offer two-week sessions focused on developing athletic skills and improving as teammates in multiple sports  – baseball, basketball, soccer, tennis, volleyball, softball and girls lacrosse. Sessions are guided by Jewish values and the meaningful way they integrate into the athletic and community experience.

If there is one theme that weaves through all the experiences we’ve created at JCC Maccabi Sport Camp, it’s that children long for a sense of belonging. Sports have the power to bring people together, and our camp provides an opportunity to connect children in powerful ways. JCC Maccabi Sports Camp embodies what we as a people value about sports and life in general—a sense of community.

We strive to create an inclusive Jewish community at camp. We are a community that cares for one another, promotes sportsmanship and embodies Jewish values. We are a community that encourages members to become their best selves, continuously building strong character, tikkun midot. Leveraging points of similarity, celebrating differences, and building trusting relationships are the foundational components of building connections.

The ability of our staff members to help foster a positive sense of community at camp is crucial our success. At JCC Maccabi Sports Camp, we’ve built an amazing team of individuals to help us continue our mission of building strong character and Jewish community through sports. As we continue to grow and expand our sports offerings, we are looking for more people to add to our team.  If you or someone you know is passionate about building community, working as part of a team, and impacting the lives of many children this summer, let’s connect.
