Caroline comes to UpStart with an extensive background in writing, communications, and facilitation. For the past ten years, she’s been working with numerous writers, entrepreneurs, and individuals, coaching them to create compelling content and share their stories in unique ways. She has also taught workshops for job seekers, teenagers, older adults, and college students at Washington University in St. Louis, the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, and JVS (Jewish Vocational Service) in San Francisco.
Caroline co-founded Ashreinu, the only egalitarian spiritual community of its kind in St. Louis, and was a 2017-18 Dorot Fellow in Israel. She holds a BA with honors in creative writing from Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA in creative writing from Washington University in St. Louis. Currently living in Oakland, CA, she is also the co-creator of Index/Fist, a collective that publishes handmade magazines.
