Bringing to light
Synchronizing operations and processes to support the work of UpStart’s program teams.
The basics
Rachael joins UpStart after spending the last ten years working for BBYO, where she focused on crafting meaningful leadership and character development experiences for Jewish high schoolers. Over the last 5 years, she oversaw BBYO’s efforts to recruit and place speakers, educators, and consultants into year-round programming with the goal of matchmaking the right groups of people together. Prior to BBYO, Rachael was a traveling Chapter Consultant for Alpha Chi Omega and visited over 30 college campuses to support collegians. Rachael is based in Laurel, Maryland, and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!) where she participated in the Individual Studies program and crafted her own major.
How Rachael finds meaning and comes together with others
Rachael loves spending time with family and friends, especially when it involves a hot cup of tea, a cheeseboard, or a croissant. You can find her scoping out the best walking spots or playgrounds with her husband, Billy, and daughter, Layla.
