Empowering experiences that equip social entrepreneurs with the creative confidence and skills to positively impact their communities
Sarah’s appetite for social impact, strong community, and supportive environment for those who create positive change are the driving force of her professional arc. Prior to her time at UpStart, Sarah was the Director of Accelerators at PresenTense where she managed and implemented accelerators for Jewish social entrepreneurs across the U.S. Previously, she served as a Development Associate at UJA-Federation of New York, where she helped New Yorkers reach their full potential as leaders, volunteers, and philanthropists. Sarah was also the community manager at two previously-owned IAC startups.
Originally from Texas, Sarah graduated with a BA in Art History and Italian from Smith College, spent a decade in New York City, and recently became a resident of San Francisco. She developed her entrepreneurial passion in the second grade when she created the first bubble umbrella with an attachable shower curtain for a school invention convention.
An extrovert by nature, Sarah cherishes moments of connection with others, conversations that stretch her worldview, and creating inviting and warm spaces for people to authentically be themselves. She loves experiencing interactive art in public spaces, intimate Shabbat dinners, and treasured Gass family gatherings.
