Director, Equity-Informed Program Design

UpStart partners with the Jewish community’s boldest leaders to expand the picture of how Jews find meaning and how we come together. Whether someone is starting a new venture, or reimagining what an existing one has to offer, UpStart gives them the entrepreneurial tools and network they need to build the Jewish community of the future.

The goal of UpStart’s programming is to empower bold leaders to leverage an entrepreneurial mindset in order to create positive change in the Jewish communal ecosystem. As a part of UpStart’s continuing commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice (DEIJ), it is critical to ensure that our programs are informed by these values, that there is a robust pipeline of diverse, entrepreneurial leaders, and that we support our network in adopting and advancing DEIJ through their work.

The Director, Equity-Informed Program Design is a full-time exempt position that will support our national programming strategy while driving local impact. We are open to applicants from all locations throughout the US and currently have hubs in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, and New York City. Due to COVID-19, all UpStart staff are currently working remotely until at least June 2021.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the Director, Equity-Informed Program Design will be an integral part of UpStart’s Program Team and Learning and Design Team, working across the departments to both support the refinement of our current programming to align with DEIJ best practices, while also creating and facilitating new programming and equity-informed entrepreneurship opportunities.
